Not like when I have soaked off other kinds. I usually lightly buff the natural nail with a yellow block anyway. I think those are 240 grit?

Nifty on WoW basis is down 5.5% with a waterfall decline.

Fundamental Factors impacting the fall

European cues and our internal cues high inflation with rising interest rates, policy jam at New Delhi, Rising fiscal deficit and current deficit and Corporate profitability under pressure had led FII to pull out money from India Equities.

The INR has been eroding its value precipitously in recent times,It has seen 14% drop in last 1 year ,most of it coming in last 3 months making it the worst performing currency in Asia.

Decline in Rupee has inflated our import bill also as India is net importer of goods with Oil having the largest portion. This deficit would need to be funded through borrowings or equity investments like FDI. This increasing deficit in turn causes worries for the FII and eventually they pull out Dollars adding pressure on INR. Thus it becomes a vicious cycle difficult to get out of.

Hi!,

With the objective of providing a respite from the travails of trying to make sense of the markets in the current environment, I have summarised below another article on the Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman, written by Michael Lewis. Lewis's interest in Kahneman was piqued after he had written the book "Moneyball" which detailed how professional baseball talent scouts keep making colossal mistakes in their evaluation of talent. What he was subsequently alerted to was that he had stumbled on a central finding in the area of cognitive psychology – that people typically make decisions based on relevant examples which are easily remembered ("availability heuristic"). Have also provided a link to a simple 5 question quiz prepared by Kahneman which illustrates some of the reasoning traps people continually fall into (I urge you to try it-it can be completed in less than 5 minutes!).

-The idea which won Kahneman the Nobel prize in economics (despite being a psychologist) was "Prospect Theory" , which he developed with his long time collaborator Amos Tversky. The theory detailed that when people are faced with a loss they become more risk-seeking and when they are faced with a gain they become more risk-averse.

-This theory provides the basis for phenomena ranging from why people are less likely to sell their stocks and homes in falling markets to why professional golfers become better putters when they are trying to save par (i.e. avoid losing a stroke) than when they are trying to make a birdie (i.e. gain a stroke).

-Their work also spawned the field of behavioural economics as they rejected one of the basic tenets of economic theory which goes back to Bernoulli's 18^th century utility theory – that people are rational, selfish and do not change their tastes. Their approach being that people are not always rational and selfish and their tastes are constantly changing.

-A central idea of Kahneman in his new book "Thinking Fast and Slow" is that we have two different mental operations – System 1, which is fast-thinking based on intuition and is capable of misleading and being misled, and, System 2 which is slow-thinking and tries to prevent System 1 from making mistakes. System 1 is always switched-on while System 2 is lazy and is used only periodically.

-Kahneman and Tversy over the years have demonstrated through a variety of experiments the common thinking traps we all tend to fall into. For example:

-"Conjunction fallacy" – where the human mind gets wedded to stereotypes and vivid descriptions while making decisions, even when they contradict facts and defy logic.

-"Anchoring effect" – where judgement is heavily influenced by some random number or event and usually results in absurd decisions. This effect is widely prevalent in our decision making.

-"Representativeness heuristic" - when you do not account for the size of a sample. This can help understanding some forms of prejudice - if you haven't been exposed to a large number of people from a certain group, you're more likely to have incorrect assumptions about them.

-"Framing effect": being influenced by the way in which questions are worded rather than responding just to their substance.

-While their work may seem like a study of human stupidity - they had a rule that they would not study an example of human stupidity or irrationality unless they observed it in themselves – and describe it as "ironic research".

-Their work has influenced a vast variety of work – behavioural economics; reasons behind the poor performance of predictions by political experts; why investors underperform in their stock sell/buy decisions; Atul Gawande's book (Better, The Checklist Manifesto) which highlights the dangers of relying too much on intuition; and why switching traffic lanes is pointless.

Marvellous stuff – even if it is totally impractical to always rely on the System 2 type thinking – it will probably save us a lot of heart-ache (and money!) if we are at least aware that we are employing the System 1 type error-prone thinking. Kahneman's new book seems to be a must read!

On Why no Inflation:

Came across one of the clearest and simple explanations (from Bronte Capital) on why we are not seeing any inflation is the US (and the rest of the developed world):

"The explanation is simple enough. The Federal Reserve has too much credibility. Each time it increases the money supply it buys some asset (say a government bond or even a foreign security) and issues cash. And people hold the cash because it is a reasonable store of value. And it is a reasonable store of value because they trust - at the end of this cycle - that the Federal Reserve will eventually take its vault full of assets, sell the assets for hard cash (which it will destroy) and will thus suck the excess liquidity out of the system.

If people really believed the cash was trash they would all try to get rid of it (i.e. buy something) but collectively they could not get rid of it (every time they buy something it would have a new owner) and the result would be inflation. Inflation would then reduce the real value of the money stock to a level where people were comfortable holding it. To get inflation you need to damage the Federal Reserve's credibility. You need the Federal Reserve to make a credible promise to be reckless."

An Ayurvedic Home Remedy (Dr. Lad and Dr. Shashi Bala):

Heartburn and an acid stomach is a very common ailment , and rather than relying on the rather strong medications currently on the market, trying a simple Ayurvedic treatment might prove to be just as efficient:

-Take 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel with a pinch of baking soda. This should have an immediate soothing effect.

-Make a cup of lime juice (10 drops), organic sugar (1/2 tsp), baking soda (1/2 tsp) – add the baking soda at the end and drink it immediately to relieve an acid stomach.

-Drink 1cup of papaya juice with 1 tsp organic sugar and 2 pinches cardamom.

-Follow a pitta dosha-pacifying diet - i.e. no hot spicy food, pickles, fermented food, citrus fruits and avoid overeating.

-A cooling yogic breathing ("shitali pranayama"-sucking wind trough the tongue by rolling it into a tube shape) is very helpful. It cools as well as stimulates digestion.

-Avipatikar churan is an Ayurvedic herbal compound which, in my experience, and proved to be very effective in reducing acidity.

सच कहूं तो लोगों से आशा ही छोड़ दी है कि हमारी सरकार शेयर बाजार के लिए कुछ कर सकती है। इसलिए ज्यादातर निवेशक भारतीय पूंजी बाजार से निकल चुके हैं और पूरा मैदान विदेशी निवेशकों के लिए खाली छोड़ दिया है। बदला सिस्टम खत्म करने के बाद 2001 में ही संयुक्त संसदीय समिति (जेपीसी) ने डेरिवेटिव सौदों में फिजिकल सेटलमेंट की जरूरत जताई थी। लेकिन दस साल बीत चुके हैं। सेबी फैसला भी कर चुकी है। बीएसई इसे अपना चुका है। लेकिन डेरिवेटिव सौदों पर एकाधिकार रखनेवाला एनएसई कुछ भी करने को तैयार नहीं है और सरकार मूक दर्शक बनी तमाशा देख रही है।

इसका भयंकर असर पड़ चुका है और इसने पूरी व्यवस्था को तहस-नहस कर दिया है। हम करीब पांच सालों से यह मुद्दा उठा रहे हैं। इन पांच सालों में भारतीय बाजार चार बार निचला सर्किट और एक बार ऊपरी सर्किट छू चुका है। इस व्यवस्था ने मुठ्ठी भर ताकतवर निवेशकों को फायदा पहुंचाया है, व्यापक निवेशकों को नहीं। अगर फिजिकल सेटलमेंट रहता तो बाजार की धौंकनी इतनी तेज नहीं चलती। बाजार के ऊपरी या निचले सर्किट तक जाने की गुंजाइश लगभग खत्म हो जाती। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि नकदी से संपन्न निवेशक कैश बाजार में वैकल्पिक गहराई पैदा करते हैं। उनकी सक्रियता किसी भी दिन नकद धन के मामले में एफ एंड ओ (फ्चूचर्स एंड ऑप्शंस) के पूरे वोल्यूम से ज्यादा हो सकती है। अभी तो एफ एंड ओ का इस्तेमाल कर बाजार में जबरदस्त उतार-चढ़ाव पैदा करना दुनिया का सबसे आसान काम बन गया है।

जो लोग 1980 से बाजार से जुड़े होंगे, वे बता सकते हैं कि कैश बाजार का वोल्यूम किसी भी दिन डेरिवेटिव सौदों में आज लगे नकद धन से ज्यादा हुआ करता था। आज तो डेरिवेटिव सौदों ने मोटे तौर पर ब्रोकर समुदाय की कब्र ही खोद डाली है। ज्यादा कैश वोल्यूम से डिलीवरी आधारित सौदों पर ज्यादा ब्रोकरेज मिलती है। इसके बजाय फ्यूचर्स में केवल एक पैसा मिलता है। इसमें झूठमूठ का अवांछित वोल्यूम खड़ा हो जाता है। एक्सचेंज इस ज्यादा वोल्यूम की फाइलें वार्षिक आय रिपोर्ट (एआईआर) में आयकर विभाग को टांसफर कर देते हैं और आयकर अधिकारी ब्रोकरों से जवाब-तलब करने लग जाते हैं। इसलिए ब्रोकर समुदाय के बीच जबरदस्त मारकाट मची है। छोटे ब्रोकर ग्राहकों को जमकर छका रहे हैं कि मुकदमेबाजी बढ़ गई है। इससे अंततः निवेशक दुखी से और दुखी होता चला जा रहा है।

हाल के एक इंटरव्यू में सेबी चेयरमैन यू के सिन्हा ने माना है कि भारतीय बाजार पर एफआईआई के अतिशय दबदबे का मुकाबला करने के लिए घरेलू तंत्र को बढ़ाने और रिटेल निवेशकों को वापस लाने की जरूरत है। वे चाहते हैं कि पीएफ व कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा निगम (ईएसआईसी) का धन पूंजी बाजार में आए। लेकिन ऐसा तभी संभव है जब बाजार में निवेश व निवेशकों को भरपूर सुरक्षा मुहैया कराई जाएगी। पिछले दो सालों में 99 फीसदी रिटेल निवेशक अपनी 70 फीसदी पूंजी गवां चुके हैं। ऐसा पीएफ और ईएससीआई के धन के साथ भी तो हो सकता है।

इसलिए रिटेल निवेशकों के संरक्षण के लिए कुछ खास उपाय करने जरूरी हैं। मसलन, फिजिकल सेटलमेंट, नए आईपीओ की लिस्टिंग पर पहले दिन सर्किट ब्रेकर, मार्केट मेकिंग व मर्चेंट बैंकरों पर सही मूल्य खोजने की जिम्मेदारी और एक दिन में किसी स्टॉक को खरीदने पर लगी 10 फीसदी वोल्यूम की ऊपरी सीमा, जिसने बहुतेरे स्टॉक्स को एकदम गठिया का शिकार बना दिया है जो चल-फिर ही नहीं पाते। बीएसई ने डेरिवेटिव सेगमेंट में तरलता पैदा करने के लिए 100 करोड़ रुपए का जो पैकेज घोषित किया है, उसे जड़ हो चुकी सभी मिड कैप कंपनियां तक फैला देना चाहिए और अनिवार्य मार्केट मेकिंग लागू करने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए ताकि जॉबिंग और बाजार में जान आ सके। इसके लिए एसटीटी (सिक्यूरिटीज ट्रांजैक्शन टैक्स) को पूरी तरह हटाना जरूरी है क्योंकि टर्नओवर पर टैक्स और ऊपर से इनकम टैक्स देना निवेशकों पर बहुत भारी पड़ता है।

एफ एंड ओ सेगमेंट से 5 कंपनियों को बाहर निकाला जा रहा है। इनमें से दो कंपनियां – जिंदल साउथवेस्ट होल्डिंग्स और गीतांजलि जेम्स को तो हाल ही में एफ एंड ओ में लाया गया था। इन्हें वहां से हटाना अतार्किक नहीं है क्योंकि इस सेगमेंट में रहने की शर्तें तो पूरी होनी चाहिए। लेकिन उन निवेशकों का क्या होगा, जिन्होंने इनमें पोजिशन ले रखी है? अगर किसी कंपनी को एफ एंड ओ में लाया गया है तो कुछ तो न्यूनतम समय, जैसे तीन साल, उन्हें वहां रखना चाहिए ताकि निवेशकों को निकलने का मौका मिल सके। के एस ऑयल को अब एफ एंड ओ से निकाल लिया गया है और एफआईआई के सामने उससे निकलने के अलावा कोई चारा नहीं है भले ही इसके भाव एक-दो रुपए ही क्यों न हो जाएं। हमारा कहना है कि किसी भी स्टॉक को एफ एंड ओ में लाने से पहले कायदे से परख लेना जरूरी है।

इसी तरह सर्किट सीमा में मनमानापन चलता है। बहुत-सी कंपनियां ऐसी हैं जिनमें सर्किट सीमा बढ़ाकर 20 फीसदी कर दी गई और अगले ही दिन उन्हें ट्रेड टू ट्रेड में डाल दिया गया। कोई निवेशक बी ग्रुप के शेयरों पर कैसे भरोसा कर सकता है जहां कोई परिभाषित मानक ही नहीं हैं? तमाम निवेशकों का कहना है कि बी ग्रुप के सारे शेयरों की एक ही श्रेणी होनी चाहिए – ट्रेड टू ट्रेड, ताकि इनमें होनेवाले सारे खेल एकदम बंद हो जाएं और सारे निवेशक समान आधार पर इन शेयरों में निवेश करें। ट्रेड टू ट्रेड में जाने पर 100 फीसदी डिलीवरी लेनी या देनी पड़ती है। मुझे तो यह सुझाव बड़ा दमदार लग रहा है। इसके साथ ही कॉरपोरेट गवर्नेंस में ढील पर कंपनियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जानी चाहिए। अभी जिस तरह कंपनियां कायदे-कानून तोड़कर भी मौज करती रहती हैं, उसने भी निवेशकों को बाजार से दूर किया है।

ये सारे कदम बाजार को स्वस्थ बनाने के लिए जरूरी हैं। तात्कालिक बात करें तो मुझे बेहद आश्चर्य हो रहा है कि एफआईआई की कम बिकवाली के बावजूद बाजार इस कदर क्यों टूट रहा है। लेहमान संकट के समय अक्टूबर 2008 में एफआईआई ने 600 करोड़ डॉलर निकाले थे, जबकि अगस्त 2011 में उन्होंने 250 करोड़ डॉलर की ही बिकवाली की और निफ्टी 4730 तक गिर गया!!! नवंबर में भी एफआईआई की तरफ से ऐसी कोई भारी बिकवाली नहीं आ रही है। इसलिए मुझे लगता है कि कुछ निहित स्वार्थ इस समय अफवाहों से लेकर यूरोप के संकट का सहारा लेकर निवेशकों की भावनाओं से खेल रहे हैं।

हमारे आंकड़ों के अनुसार भारतीय कंपनियों को सितंबर 2011 की तिमाही में विदेशी मुद्रा दरों में अंतर के चलते 8500 करोड़ रुपए का नुकसान हुआ है। यह सारा कुछ इतने खटाक से हुआ कि कंपनियों को हेजिंग का मौका ही नहीं मिल सका। दिसंबर तिमाही में ही कंपनियों को विदेशी मुद्रा नुकसान होने की आशंका है। हालांकि यह उतना चौंकानेवाला नहीं होगा। कॉरपोरेट क्षेत्र को हुआ विदेशी मुद्रा नुकसान अगस्त 2011 में एफआईआई द्वारा निकाली रकम से ज्यादा है। इसलिए कंपनियों को धन जुटाने के लिए ज्यादा शेयर गिरवी रखने को बाध्य होना पड़ा। फिर वे शेयर बाजार के गिरने से फंस गए। बहुतों को मार्जिन रकम न देने पर अपने शेयरों से हाथ धोना पड़ा। हमारी जानकारी के मुताबिक इस शुक्रवार, 18 नवंबर को एक बड़ी एनबीएफसी ने 45 से ज्यादा कंपनियों में मार्जिन कॉल दे डाली।

यह दिखाता है कि भारतीय शेयर बाजार की असली समस्या कहां है। हम इस बात को अनदेखा नहीं कर सकते कि कंपनियों के प्रवर्तक खुद बाजार में खेल करते हैं। ताजा घटनाक्रम दिखाता है कि ऑपरेटर तक कंपनी प्रबंधन की सक्रिय भूमिका के बिना क्यों किसी स्टॉक में हाथ डालने से हिचकिचाते हैं। इसलिए बहुत सारे मसले हैं जिनसे निपटना जरूरी है। बाजार की गिरावट के लिए अकेले एफआईआई को दोष देना सही नहीं है। यह एक दुष्चक्र है या कहें कि चक्रव्यूह है जिसे सरकार की सक्रिय भागीदारी के बिना नहीं तोड़ा जा सकता।

हर कोई अधीर है। किसी को धैर्य नहीं। फटाफट नोट बनाने की पिनक है। दो-चार साल क्या, लोगबाग दो-चार महीने भी इंतजार करने को तैयार नहीं हैं। जो लोग लांग टर्म हैं, वे एफडी और पीपीएफ में लांग टर्म हैं। शेयर बाजार में तो वे भी शॉर्ट टर्म हैं। लोग कहने लगे हैं कि वॉरेन बफेट का जमाना लद गया। दुनिया का यह सबसे कामयाब निवेशक भी अपनी सोच बदल रहा है। मसलन, पहले बफेट टेक्नोलॉजी शेयरों से दूर रहते थे। लेकिन इसी हफ्ते उन्होंने खुलासा किया है कि उन्होंने आईबीएम में 1200 करोड़ डॉलर (करीब 60,000 करोड़ रुपए) का भारी-भरकम निवेश कर रखा है।

यह भी कहा जा रहा है कि आज बिजनेस के तौर-तरीके एकदम बदल गए हैं। आर्थिक माहौल ज्यादा ही अनिश्चित और अस्थिर हो गया है। कभी नीचे तो कभी एकदम ऊपर। एकदम से ठंडा, एकदम से गरम। ज्वार-भाटा। फिर, दुनिया की सारी अर्थव्यवस्थाएं आपस में जुड़ गई हैं। अमेरिका का संकट सारी दुनिया का संकट बन जाता है। इटली का डिफॉल्ट इंडोनेशिया के बाजार की चूलें हिला देता है। ग्रीस की परेशानी भारत को पसीना-पसीना कर देती है। बड़ी से बड़ी कंपनियां अचानक खाक में मिल जाती हैं। संरचनाएं इतनी तेजी से बदल रही हैं कि आप किसी भी विचार से चिपके नहीं रह सकते, क्योंकि पलक झपकते ही वो अप्रासंगिक हो जाता है।

ऐसे में वैल्यू निवेश और लांग टर्म का आखिर क्या मतलब रह गया है? जब सब क्षणभंगुर है तो शाश्वत का लफड़ा क्या! हमारे-आप जैसे निवेशकों की सोच यही हो गई। वैसे, अगर अपने यहां रिटेल निवेशक शेयर बाजार से दूर हो गए हैं तो उसकी एक वजह यह है कि 1991 से 2004 के बीच करीब 14-15 सालों तक सूचकांक कमोबेश एक ही स्तर पर स्थिर रहा। सबको लगने लगा कि इक्विटी से कमाई करने का एक ही तरीका है कि ट्रेडिंग करो, बराबर खरीदते बेचते रहो।

2003 के बाद हालात बदले हैं। बाजार ने बराबर रिटर्न दिया है। लेकिन इस दौरान उतार-चढ़ाव या वोलैटिलिटी भी जबरदस्त रही। कुछ को समझ में आ गया कि ट्रेडिंग के बजाय निवेश करने में फायदा है और वे इक्विटी में ज्यादा निवेश करेंगे लांग टर्म के लिए। लेकिन ज्यादातर निवेशक वोलैटिलिटी पर खेलना चाहते हैं। उनको लगता है कि कल किस कंपनी का क्या हो जाएगा, क्या पता। इसलिए शेयरों के रुझान को पकड़कर नोट बना लेने में क्या हर्ज है! वैसे, हमारा मानना है कि बफेट अब भी प्रासंगिक हैं। उनका सूत्र है – ऐसी कंपनियों में निवेश करें जिनका बिजनेस मॉडल मजबूत हो, जिनका प्रबंधन अच्छा हो और जो ऐसे भाव पर मिल रही हों, जहां से सुरक्षित अच्छा मार्जिन मिल सकता हो। अब ऐसी कंपनी चुनना ही तो असली चुनौती है बफेट साहब। खैर, कुछ फुटकर बातें जो हम इस हफ्ते पहले लिख-पढ़ चुके हैं…

Setelah bergelumang agak lama dalam dunia Forex yang asyik
mengecewakan, saya meresolusikan bahawa TEKNIK merupakan senjata yang

Akhirnya saya telah menemui satu cara, jalan yang betul-betul telah

telah membuahkan hasil, walaupun tidak sebanyak mungkin. Saya tidak
akan menoleh ke belakang lagi. Inilah ruang dan peluang kerjaya saya
agar saya dapat mencapai matlamat untuk menjadi salah seorang insan
yang "Bebas Kewangan".

I have to say I love love love this new system. I have had returning soak offs this week, it soaked off fully in under 12 mins. No filing. I always have to file regardless of brand. I was beginning to think I prepped the nails too well prior to application. It stayed shinier and lasted just as well. I did not have to remove the shine of the top coat before soaking(which saved time) and the 30 second cure time shaved much needed minutes odd this service. I have been ahead if schedule instead of staring at my lamp waiting for the top coat to cure while my next client is staring at me. LOL. I just need more colors and refills. RIL-BP form a JV to market natural gas in India

Reliance Industries (RIL) and BP have announced the incorporation of India Gas Solutions Pvt. Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture company which will focus on global sourcing and marketing of natural gas in India.

The joint venture company will also develop infrastructure to accelerate transportation and marketing of natural gas within the country. India Gas Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will be funded with equal equity from BP and RIL.

Speaking on the occasion, Sashi Mukundan, region president and country head, BP India said, 'Our vision is to see the RIL-BP joint venture company emerge as a major participant in meeting India's growing gas demand . The need for assured gas supplies to fuel this growth is crucial and the RIL – BP partnership is in a unique position to contribute significantly in this respect.'

PMS Prasad, executive director at RIL said, "Demand for gas has been growing at an exponential rate and we anticipate natural gas to emerge as the preferred choice of fuel given its properties as a cleaner and sustainable fuel source."

He further said that India Gas Solutions will commence operations with 30 employees seconded from BP and RIL, with deep experience in the gas business, both in India and internationally. This joint venture will assume the administration of the existing gas contracts to KGD6 customers, and will also pursue other opportunities, including LNG import.

Believe me, I've looked. There is no such thing out there. If there was I'd have used it. In terms of OSS there's basically a vast wasteland in terms of charting IN GENERAL for Java. There's JFreeChart, which is a pretty good general charting package, but its design doesn't lend itself too well to real-time charting and it doesn't have any specific support for financial charting. It will do candlesticks and you can draw a decent chart with it, but you're on your own as far as any finance specific functionality. You could certainly roll something with that and say ta-lib, but you'll have to write a chunk of code (and you could probably script the whole thing, though I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a 'scripted' indicator).
